FolioX is an actuarial consulting firm managed by Haofeng Yu, PhD, FSA, CERA, MAAA, an 18-year industry veteran with deep experience across Life, Annuity, A&H, ALM, ERM, pricing, valuation, and enterprise risk management. Haofeng obtained his double PhDs in Math and Computation Analysis & Modeling.

Haofeng’s career spans leadership roles at PartnerRe, AIG, and AFLAC, where he built actuarial systems, modernized experience study environments, designed data platforms, and developed pricing and risk analytics for complex insurance products.

He has led cross-functional teams, shaped enterprise modeling strategy, and advised on regulatory, capital, and reinsurance topics. His work bridges actuarial science, data science & engineering, capital modeling, and enterprise risk management — the exact combination modern actuarial teams need.

Haofeng plays an active role in the actuarial profession through multiple industry committees/groups that cover ESG, Artificial Intelligence, Life Experience & Assumption, RBC, Individual Life Experience, Mortality Improvement topics.

His involvement in these groups ensures that FolioX remains aligned with emerging regulatory trends, modeling standards, VM-22 developments, and industry best practices.

Ruby Xi — Actuarial Assistant

Ruby is a recent graduate with a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science from Boston University and four years of hands-on experience in data analytics and Python programming. She supports database management, experience studies, and reporting automation, bringing strong technical depth and modern engineering skills to the FolioX team.

Her background in data processing, statistical modeling, and workflow automation strengthens our ability to deliver fast, clean, and scalable actuarial solutions.
