Actuarial science, engineered for the modern insurer.

FolioX bridges actuarial judgment, data science, and software engineering to make critical work clean, defensible, and genuinely useful.

Our story

Built for the modern insurance enterprise.

FolioX was founded on a straightforward conviction: actuarial work should be engineered—not just calculated. Brittle spreadsheets, opaque vendor systems, and manual quarterly processes create regulatory risk and slow strategic decisions.

Led by Haofeng Yu, PhD, FSA, CERA, MAAA, FolioX combines 18+ years of experience across life, annuity, ALM, and enterprise risk management with the practices of a modern technology firm.

Our approach uses Python-native platforms, Git-based governance, full data lineage, and rigorous documentation so results remain reproducible, auditable, and defensible.

FolioX serves life and annuity carriers from Houston and Boston, and works remotely with clients across the United States.

Our philosophy

Five standards for every engagement.

A useful model is more than correct: it is understandable, governed, repeatable, and connected to a decision.
